Gin Through the Ages

The original dry gin took the world by storm. This humble distillation of Juniper berries still manages to evoke memories of men with handlebar moustaches and women under parasols sipping gin in exotic locations around the world.

It was often mentioned fondly in stories by Rudyard Kipling, Ernest Hemingway and Somerset Maugham in settings as varied and romantic as India, Cairo, Cuba and Singapore.

Gin holds a significant place in the world today as well. The market for a fine, craft gin is steadily growing as an entire new-wave of adventurous mixologists discover the joys of cocktails.
